Human’s Greatest Technological Discovery Driverless Car - 825 Words

Human's Greatest Technological Discovery: Driverless Car (Other (Not Listed) Sample) Content: NameTutorSubjectDateThe Driverless CarWhen the current generation faces the question of what humans greatest technological discovery is it would not be a surprise to observe a majority of them claiming that it is the computer. Such an assertion is justifiable contending from the perspective of the spectacular and revolutionary shifts that the computer has brought to humankinds way of operation. As far as I am concerned, the transfer of computer knowledge into the sophisticated manufacture of fashionable vehicles is what intrigues me. Contemporary technological advancement in automobile fabrication supplemented by novel computer ideas has driven vehicle manufacturing plants towards developing automated models of cars. Such autonomous vehicles integrate some computer systems, sensors, and other technological implements that make it possible for them to perform autopilot function electrically and most importantly in an independent style. Interestingly, the autopilot feat ure of the driverless car does not impede navigation by a human driver as he or she can take control of the car at any moment, thereby superseding the function. As far as I know, Tesla Motors, Inc. has been in the vanguard in designing, manufacturing, and selling electric cars with the autopilot function. Ramsey bears me witness when he mentions that the company is the pioneer of the recent discovery of a turn signal that can prevent their self-driving vehicles from crashes and possible pileups. The development of driverless cars has triggered many questions and endless debate, particularly in the legal and ethical contexts of authorizing their movement on roads. I do have compelling reasons to advocate having autopilot cars on highways. First, driverless cars are terrific in terms of efficiency and safety. The fact that they incorporate advanced safety features and are unmanned by human eliminates distracted driving errors that compromise safe navigation, thus making them safe to dr ive (Yeomans 4). So far, there has been no single incident since autopilot cars started functioning in places like California a few years ago. Secondly, they can move consistently at the upper limit of their speed without causing collisions that culminated in fatalities. They have the capacity to adapt swiftly as Capgemini Consulting sustains (9). Thirdly, robotic cars eliminate passenger redundancy because they can drive unoccupied to the required destinations such as maintenance bays and passenger parks. In places like Saudi Arabia, autopilot cars could be a viable solution to the problem of the ban on women driving. The ban is an archaic practice that impartially and publicly denies them their physical mobility freedom and rights in the world where they should enjoy free movement. Additionally, I am persuaded that autopilot cars should be allowed full operation on roads because they eliminate occupants state constraints. What this point implies is that minors, intoxicated, impair ed, unlicensed, and sidetracked occupants can all ride on it as no driver is needed to man the steering wheel when in automated mode.Critics of my opinion may suggest that driverless cars augment damage liability and vi...
